Tracklog
A long-running engineering engagement across the stack for a live telematics platform: data pipelines, APIs, operational tooling, mobile products, reporting and infrastructure.

The work
Built around
the system.
The interesting part is not one interface. It is the whole system: data arriving from vehicles, services processing it, users consuming it live, mobile products running in the field and infrastructure staying predictable under load.
A system that cannot wait for the page to refresh.
Tracklog operates a live telematics environment where vehicle data, alerts, reports and operational workflows are constantly moving. The platform has to serve large fleets and active users while ingesting continuous telemetry from multiple generations of vehicle hardware.
That means performance is not an abstract benchmark. A backlog, slow report, stale map or dropped mobile connection becomes an operational problem very quickly.
Engineering across the layers.
Our work spans the platform rather than a single application. We have designed and evolved Kafka-backed data flows, Node and NestJS services, operational React interfaces, React Native field applications, reporting systems, alerting and the infrastructure that keeps those components available.
The emphasis is on making each layer work as part of one system: from vehicle events entering the pipeline to the moment an operator sees a change on screen.
Move less data. Deliver the right data.
Live fleet views need to remain responsive even when the underlying platform is handling a much larger stream of events. We reworked live-data distribution around lightweight vehicle identifiers and targeted hydration, so application nodes only assemble the data needed by the users connected to them.
That architecture reduces unnecessary work and lets the platform scale around active subscriptions rather than repeatedly rebuilding the same view everywhere.
Software that leaves the server room.
Tracklog also includes mobile products used in vehicles and in the field. Those applications have to deal with connectivity changes, background operation, device identity, live sockets, mapping and safety-critical workflows in a way that ordinary web software rarely has to consider.
It is a good example of the kind of work we like: cloud systems, user interfaces and physical-world constraints all meeting in the same product.
Boring in production is a feature.
The platform is supported by highly available application infrastructure, observability, security monitoring and operational tooling. We work on the systems behind the product as readily as the product itself, because reliability is usually a cross-layer problem.
The result is an engagement that looks less like a website project and more like continuous engineering of a living platform.
